Luisa founded CUBE [ON THE SQUARE] in 1998 with business partner Winnifred Knight. CUBE is a strategic digital consultancy specialising in the development and execution of platform and content solutions for companies wanting to digitise existing business processes or develop new innovative go to market channels.

CUBE has developed many web, mobile and gamification platforms over the past 19 years and has also conceptualised and executed a range of Digital, Direct, CRM and Social Media programmes and campaigns.

  Luisa has been Adjunct Faculty at the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), since 2007. She has lectured on various programs, including an MBA Elective on “Digital and Social Strategy” and a variety of Executive Education courses, many of them focused on Technology and Innovation.

Luisa sits on the International Advisory Board for the DMA India, and sits on the Board and heads the Research portfolio for the Ecommerce Forum Africa (EFA). She is invited regularly to be a keynote speaker and panellist at local and international conferences.

Luisa completed her MBA at GIBS in 2005. The title of her research was “Measuring the Economic Value that Marketing Contributes to an Organisation”.

  Luisa sits as a judge for a number of different industry awards, including the Financial Mail’s AdFocus Awards, the DMA SA's Assegai Awards and the MMA Smarties Awards. She is also a final round judge for the US DMA’s prestigious international Echo Awards.

Sagren Pather

Executive Head Digital Marketing and Analytics Standard Bank

Sagren leads a team of Digital Rockstar's and mathemagicians as Executive Head: Digital Marketing and Marketing Analytics at Standard Bank, one of Africa’s Largest bank.

With a deep passion and attraction to technology, innovation and people; these interests steered his career towards the online world, where he harnessed his skills understanding consumer behavior online and driving contextual experiences. The allure of theimmediacy of radio and television expanded his experience in Digital media sales, Marketing, brand management, advertising, IT and broadcasting at Jacaranda 94.2 and the SABC.

Along his journey, Sagren held a deep passion for measuring things, digging into trends and telling stories about those insights. Whilst driving digital creative and platform enablement in North Africa and Middle East at Nokia magnified his experience in telecommunications and customer centricity with behavioural data at the heart of every initiative.

Most recently Sagren has been spearheading data driven marketing in digtal marketing, media and advertising and enabling analytics for ecommerce business on retail banking.

Sarah Nolte – Senior Business Development Manager – BBM Messenger

Sarah Nolte is a leading business development professional in the African ICT, telecoms, marketing, content, and music sectors. Her 13 years international experience has extended from positions held at London based companies Capacity Media and Winmark Europe Limited, involving extensive global travel, all while maintaining a core focus on the African continent. Years within the publishing industry lead to the launch of the successful magazine titles Africa Telecoms, Rolling Stone and F1 South Africa. Her entrepreneurial and innovative flair has aided in several start up initiatives and businesses, including her own marketing, events and content company Collective-Networks.

In 2014 she was honoured the Co-Chairman position of the non-for-profit organization Mobile Monday South Africa, that brings together a global community of mobile industry visionaries, developers and influential’s to share ideas, best practices and trends from global markets. In her free time, she is camping, fishing and attending music festivals with her husband and friends. Her passion for local music has her involved in Balcony TV South Africa, a online and live music events platform that supports up and coming musicians.

Sarah is currently the Senior Business Development Manager for BBM Messenger, operating under licence by Creative Media Works Pte Ltd, where she is dedicated to marketing and building an ecosystem of local content and services within the Discover menu to add value to BBM users in South Africa and Nigeria

Elizabeth Lee Ming

Elizabeth Lee Ming is passionate about Digital, Social and CRM and driving thought leadership in Customer-centricity. With over 17 years extensive experience in B2B and B2C Marketing on both client and agency side, she has worked in South Africa, the UK and the USA at a number of blue chip organisations.  

Her experience covers Customer Relationship Management, Loyalty, Direct Marketing, Digital Marketing, Data driven marketing, Integrated Marketing, Campaign Management, Project Management and execution on Marketing and process plans, Digital Strategy, Channel Strategy and implementation, Mobile Strategy and implementation, CRM Strategy and implementation, Communication Strategy, Social Media, Digital Media, Search and Online Marketing.  

Individual Award: DMASA Direct Marketer of the Year Recognised by the Direct Marketing Association South Africa as the Direct Marketer of the Year in November 2015 at the annual Assegai Awards. This award is an acknowledgement of years of service and performance in Direct Marketing, a successful body of work delivered in one’s career, and a significant contribution to the marketing industry.

She has held executive positions as Executive Director, Strategy and Digital and CDO (Chief Disruption Officer) at the most awarded global Advertising Agency TBWA\Hunt Lascaris and has been instrumental in leading the digital integration and direction for the agency and large client accounts like MTN, Standard Bank and Nissan. She consults to the DMASA (Direct marketing Association of South Africa) as Strategy Partner to further develop the industry through Education and Training, Advocacy and Global best practice.

Elizabeth Lee Ming is a highly sought after Speaker and Awards Judge both in South Africa and Internationally. She speaks regularly on Digital and Social Media Trends and Best Practice and delivers highly Inspirational presentations that showcase the global Awards trends in Digital, Direct, Mobile and Data Driven Marketing.

Candice Goodman

Candice Goodman is the DMA’s Direct Marketer of the Year 2016. She has head up Education at the Mobile Marketing Association of South Africa for the past 5 years, is on the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA of SA) Advisory Board, and the Education Committee of the IAB and was the first Certified MMA Mobile Marketer in South Africa.

In 2014, Candice won first prize in the Goldman Sachs-GIBS 10,000 Women Certification Programme, and in 2015, came in top among the first local graduates of the international IDM (Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing).

Her mobile marketing consultancy, Mobitainment, is over 11 years old now and has won multiple international awards over the past 9 years. Mobitainment earned the coveted title of “SME of the Year 2016” from the Direct Marketing Association of South Africa showing the importance of mobile as a medium to achieve measurable return on investment.

Candice is a prolific speaker on the subject and has spoken around South Africa, Africa and in Europe about her passion for mobile in the African Market at various conferences over the years like AfricaCOM, East AfricaCOM, The Internet Show, Mobile Web Africa, Tech4Africa, Wired Women, Mobile Entertainment Africa, Marketing Mix, MRMW Africa, The Best of Digital and M-Days… to name a few

Aviv Weil

Head of Creative Shop| Facebook Africa

Over the past 2 decades, Aviv has worked at some of the best advertising agencies in Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, New York, London and Johannesburg. Over his career he’s won many local and international advertising awards, and worked with some of the world’s most legendary brands.

He now finds himself heading up Facebook’s Creative Shop in Africa, leading the creative charge on the continent for the connected world with an emphasis on Facebook and Instagram. He has an incredibly beautiful fiancé, two adorable fur children and a loving, caring, Israeli mother who’s wondering when he’ll get married.

Benjamin Schoderer

Born and raised in Germany, Benjamin is a seasoned marketing professional focussing on driving mobile / digital programmes in corporate environments.

He currently leads the digital marketing portfolio at Yum! Brands for KFC Africa. Prior to this he helped to establish the digital function and strategy at Vodacom South Africa where he lead the digital marketing and sales teams until joining Yum! Brands in 2014.

Before relocating to South Africa in 2007 he worked in mobile content and strategy for the Bertelsmann Group in Hamburg, Germany.  He loves his family, living in Africa and soccer.

Karabo Denelane - CEO – TBWA Hunt Lascaris

Karabo runs Hunt Lascaris in Johannesburg and his sole mandate is to reposition the agency, make it future fit and reclaim its top spot locally and internationally.

After 13 months at the helm he has overseen a restructure of 3 businesses within the group with the ultimate aim of creating an ideas consultancy, with disruption at its core.

Currently he is focusing on optimizing agency output through looking at dynamic teams, digitization, innovation and a refocus on “the work” Karabo has grown up in advertising and has also had few stints on client side as well as running his own agency. He loves travel, design, art, music connecting with people.

Jonathan Houston

Jonathan Houston is passionate about digital marketing and digital strategy.

During the day, Jonathan is the General Manager for HKLM – a leading strategic brand and communications agency . Jonathan's work at HKLM includes strategy conceptualization, focusing on the alignment of digital marketing to business strategy as well as assisting HKLM's clients on fulfilling their digital objectives.

Jonathan is the author of Internet Marketing for Entrepreneurs, a 50 000 word body of work which focusses on the subtleties of digital marketing which are often overlooked. He has over 10 years marketing experience and is a thought leader that contributes frequently to and has delivered many keynote presentations on how to market your business and how technology is an enabler to your success.

Matthew Berge

Beginning his career as a copywriter at Publicis Johannesburg, Matt worked his way up to his current position as ECD at DDB South Africa. He has worked extensively on global and local brands and has had work shortlisted and awarded in several major international and South African shows.

After 10 years of experience working for a search engine for jobs, a leading social network and the yellow pages in Europe I started as head of programmatic at Mindshare South Africa. I am responsible for the roll-out of the programmatic department at Mindshare.

I have been on both sides of the trading desk;

Through the social network I gained experience in inventory monetization on the publisher’s side:

Matthew Arnold

Head of Media & Data, NATIVE VML

Matthew is a digital strategist at heart with extensive hands-on experience. Over the course of his career his responsibilities have included channel strategy, media strategy, paid search, media planning, buying and tracking across all media channels. He looks after all media at NATIVE VML as well as leading the Data and Analytics department.

In his spare time Matthew founded a leading Gaming and Technology website ( 2 x winner of African Tech blog of the year) he is very passionate about both media and gaming.
